Attraction
If you struggle in life with the game of attraction, it only makes sense that you want to learn all about it. Most people find that books or programs on this topic often have something dodgy about them, and it may take a while before one finds something suitable. A main distinction made in these books is that between developing techniques (outer game) and changing your mindset (inner game). Both methods can deliver results, but neither seems to work well without at least some involvement of the other. This distinction is reflected in some of the questions below.
1. Audience
Men and women require quite different attraction approaches, and most books focus on only one 'target group'.
Attracting women
Books for becoming better at attracting women (either by men or women).
Example: The man's guide to women
Attracting men
Books for becoming better at attracting men (either by men or women).
Example: The power of the pussy

2. Strategy type
You can become a master in appearance and derive confidence from the effect, but there might still be a nagging lack of confidence that is triggered every once in a while. You can also be completely at ease with who you are and attract people with that quality, but without any positive feedback on, e.g., your appearance, you might have a long road ahead.
It is possible to work on several aspects at once, but dividing your attention can also have a downside compared to focusing on one aspect at a time. Your choice need not be definitive, but rather indicate your next focus area.

3. Mindset
Regardless of the strategy type you choose, you can do it with two distinct mindsets. Best results are often obtained from choosing one and being consistent with it for a period of time.
While both ways seem possible, you can only adopt one of the two mindsets, both of which stem from a deep-rooted belief about how the universe works – Do your actions create your circumstances, or do your circumstances reflect your own frequency? Whatever is true to you, make sure you operate from that mindset until you perhaps one day change your mind (and then stick with the new mindset).

4. Content style
Like with many topics, books on attraction often place an emphasis on either anecdotes or practical methods.
Inspiring anecdotal books usually also cover the approach(es) taken by the protagonist(s), but these are less in-depth than practical books. The latter often also include anecdotes, but their emphasis is on providing instructions.
Inspiring anecdotal
Some books are aimed at inspiring or perhaps even empowering readers with the life story of one or several people who overcame their creative block.
Example: The game
Practical
Practical books provide theory and instructions about one or several approaches.
Example: No more mr nice guy – the hero's journey
